The Getty Center presents Getty´s collection of western European art from the Middle Ages to the present against a backdrop of dramatic architecture, tranquil gardens, and breathtaking views.

The collection includes European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, French antique furniture and decorative arts, and European and American photographs. Designed by Richard Meier & Partners Architects, the Getty Center opened in 1997.

Location:

At 1200 Getty Center Drive, the Getty center is located adjacent to the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles. From the parking garage, visitors take a 5-minute tram ride up the hill to the museum.


Hours of operation:

The Getty Center is open Tuesday-Friday & Sunday from 10:00am to 5:30pm. Saturday 10:00am to 8:00pm


Reservations

Admission to the Getty Center is free.

For parking, reservations need to be made with ourselves and is subject to availability. The following parking fees apply:

Car / Small van:             $25 ($15 after 3:00pm)

Large Van:                      $80

Mini-coach (1-30 seats) $80

Motorcoach (30+ seats) $185

*Drop-off is free of charge


Group Services

Self-guided audio tours of the collection and gardens are available in English and Spanish. A highlights tour is available in many foreign languages. All can be downloaded from the Getty Website (GettyGuide app), free of charge. Maps are available in English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. 


Dining Options

The restaurant can take reservations for groups of 25 or less. The cafe can easily accommodate groups without a reservation, it´s fast and good with indoor and outdoor seating. The Garden Terrace Café is open in summer. Coffee Carts are located in the Museum Courtyard and outside the Restaurant. Gift vouchers and picnic lunch boxes are also available. There is a picnic area at the bottom of the hill next to the Sculpture Garden & Tram Station.
