National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, Atlanta Attractions

This fascinating museum opened in 1996 and tells the incredible story of the famous Mighty Eighth Air Force that served in Europe during World War II.

Among the many World War II exhibits are aircraft including a B17 Flying Fortress bomber, a model of a Messerschmitt BF 109G fighter, and a 3/4-scale model of a P51 Mustang fighter. Aircraft on display outside include the B47 Stratojet, MiG 17 and from the cold war era a F4 Phantom II.

The museum also has an art gallery, memorial garden, restaurant and gift shop.

Opening Hours: 10.00-17.00 Tuesday to Saturday

12.00-17.00 on Sunday

Closed on Monday.
